The star of Chicago the Musical’s national tour talks to Ticketmaster ahead of the show’s UK Tour dates.
1. You are about to return to the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago. What is it about this role that made you want to reprise it?
The role of Roxie Hart is terrific to play, and i had so much fun when I did Chicago in 2004 (gosh, is it really that long ago?!). I love Roxie because she is so like me. She is hard, tough and driven, but underneath she has a heart.
2. As well as stage musicals, you also appeared as Meg in the film version of The Phantom of the Opera. What was the process you went through to getting this part?
Appearing in Phantom was amazing – but as with everyone, I had to audition and do a screen test. The director, Joel Schumacher, seemed pleased with me – and they even wrote Meg into some extra scenes!
